Before you proceed with the Framework and Content installation, kindly
ensure that following pre-requisites are present on your server machine. Also
kindly ensure to upload you server details on WORM as in absence of your server
details on WORM you won’t be able to proceed with the installation.

If you have all the
pre-requisites present you may proceed with the installation as per steps
below. Kindly note that ERA framework only needs to be installed on server
machine and not on client machines. For client machines you will only have to
install ERA Explorer.
oAlways ensure that your server configuration
matches the recommended server configuration at all times (before and after
installation as well).
oEnsure proper maintenance of server machine i.e.
timely backup, timely anti-virus scan etc. so as to avoid any issues due to
oEnsure to take Learning backup on day to day
basis from ERA LF Login. This will ensure that the learning records of learners
are safe & intact.
oEnsure that server is connected to Internet
directly and not through any proxy connection.
oContinuous Internet connectivity is not required
on Server machine. Internet connectivity is only required during uploading and
downloading of records in ERA from LF Login.
oEnsure that a proper power backup arrangement is
present on your center at least for your server machine so as to avoid system
crash in case of sudden power fluctuations.
oEnsure to upload the learning records from ERA
LF login on daily basis once all the batches are over for that day.
oEnsure that a Good Anti-Virus is present on your
server machine so as to avoid your server being infected by Viruses and
corrupting your System/ERA files.
oEnsure to delete the unnecessary files from temp
folder as well as from the recycle bin so as to avoid disk full message on C
oEnsure that sufficient of free space is
available on C Drive before learning starts at your center on a particular day.
oEnsure to protect server machine with a strong
password so as to avoid any learner using your server machine.
oEnsure to keep the Anti-Virus, Adobe Flash and
VLC Media player updated on your server machine at all times.
oOnce you have installed the ERA framework,
ensure that the Hard Disk and RAM of server machine are not changed and are as
per the details that has been uploaded on Worm. Any change in the server
machine components will result in stoppage of ERA and ultimately the learning
at the center.
oEnsure that server machine is never used by any
of the learners coming to center for learning. Learners must access the
learning content only on client machines.
oEnsure that no other software which utilizes
high CPU or Memory is installed on the server machine. If such a software is
present on server kindly ensure that such software is not running on server
machine when the learning through ERA is in process at the center.
oEnsure not to delete/modify/change any of the
ERA related files on server machine as doing so will block ERA at you center
and eventually learning will be stopped at your center.
oEnsure not to copy/keep your personal
files/folders on C drive of your server machine so as to avoid disk full
·LF before proceeding to teach the learner,
should first get himself/herself acquainted with all the features of ERA which
will help the Learning experience of learner to be more fruitful
·LF should carefully study the Learner dashboard
so that they can further explain learner how to view the marks of scored by a
learner after solving Take a Challenge and Take a Bigger Challenge activities
·LF should visit the content pages and also solve
some Take a Challenge and Take a Bigger Challenges so as to get the first hand
·LF should be able to identify the Sequential
content in the course (Sequential content in the course is highlighted with
·Visit the ePortfolio section and try to view
some activity posted by learners
·Visit the Session Wise content, Session wise
Test and other collaborative/Group activities present within the KYP courses.
·LF should be well acquainted with the LF login
·LF should know the following sections/links in LF login
i.Learner Download link- For Downloading the ERA Username
& Password for learners
ii.Course Download link: For downloading course details
(new as well as existing course updates)
iii.Reports link- To keep track of Learning &
Assessments done by learner
iv.ePortfolio section- To view the ePortfolio activities
posted by learner and publish the exhibition of the same.
·After end of each batch, LF should login in to
ERA LF login and upload all the marks of learner for that particular batch
·After end of all the batches for that particular
day, LF should take manual backup of ERA
·Open the first Sequential Case Study (Orange
Content) of the Session
·Look at the various outputs enhanced level wise
·Start the Case Study
·Learn a Particular skill to create Output as per
the Case Study
·Open the application and perform the skill
·Simultaneously learn and perform the various
other skills needed to prepare the Output
·If case study cannot be completed in one
session, use the bookmark option
·From the Content page, select the Bookmark
option and place a Bookmark where you finished in that session
·Save the Output that has been created in that
·In case you forgot to save the bookmark for
previously viewed content page, then you can use the last visited page link
from the Learner Content home page
·In new learning session, open the page from the
Bookmark option where you left in the last session
·Open the Output which was saved in the previous
·After completion of the Case Study, an Output of
the same will also be ready by learning and performing.
·After completion of all the Sequential Case
Studies of a Session there will be same number of Outputs ready to be uploaded
·After completion of the case study/topic for
that particular day, you should use the the log out button to logout of the
ERA, as if you directly close the login window your time you spent in ERA will
not be take in to consideration. So make sure to use the logout button to log
out of ERA
·Learning Facilitator publishes the exhibition of
all the created Outputs.
·Learning Facilitator takes printout of the best
output created and displays it on Notice Board
·After viewing all the case Studies, solve the
Take a Challenge and Session completion test for that particular Session.
·After solving, go to the dashboard in your login
and check your marks as well as the details of for which you have used hints to
solve and for which you did not require hints to solve
·Go back to that particular Take a Challenge for
which you have used hint
·Solve that activity again to score Full marks
for that activity
·Now go again to dashboard and see your score
increase by the day as you keep on solving the Take a Challenge.
Yes, there is difference between the
Installation and Activation.
oInstallation: - SDC Installs ERA using the
MKCL’s ERA Framework Installer given by the MKCL, by which the software
framework gets installed; however it will be available for use only after its
oActivation: - SDC activates ERA by clicking the
Activate button on the login Screen on ERA after installation of ERA Explorer.
Only after activation SDC can use the ERA.
